honestly, I’d be in support of this. I’d support more common EV drivetrains, at least as options, and if you’re just cruising around town- why not?

Will be interesting if “Mach-E” becomes their premium electric variant brand designation beyond the Mustang.

There are plenty of chargers at the mall.

Wow in silhouette/ profile the one on the right (guessing Baby Bronco?) looks like an XTerra with just a hint of Freelander. Actually broke by brain for a second.

So happy! Hopefully they sell a lot. Wonder what the take-rate is in the current Wrangler. Guess the manual in it isn’t great...

Hopefully the 7-speed becomes an option in the Ranger.
![]() 07/06/2020 at 09:56 |

Yeah, Freelander is the correct analogue. Or Jeep Cherokee, I guess.

Ooh, that’d be interesting. Is the 2.3 Ecoboost one of the engines they’re using in the Bronco?
Edit: yes

MONKEEEEE, I need to see a ‘shop of these recreating the bronco logo by standing on their nose with smoke billowing out of the hood and tire mount flailing upwards.

Def serious Freelander vibes.

Both good looking vehicles IMO.

That 2 door. I'm so ready

Can’t say I’m a big fan of either, but will be interesting to see how this Bronco Lite performs compared with the two of these.

They just might. CUVs are the new sedans.
I hope they call it something cool though.

Really hope they knock it out of the park with these.

Ford COO Jim Farley told Reuters, “We see our vehicle different than Wrangler.”
So what’s he looking at, exactly?
![]() 07/06/2020 at 10:51 |

It’s different in that it’s not meant to be a hard-core crawler. I think the suspension is more set up toward the Raptor, like a desert runner. The fact that they tried a Baja 1000
campaign points to this.

My wife and I were already talking about replacing my explorer with a 4 Door. I can't wait
![]() 07/06/2020 at 10:55 |

Yeah that's the bronco sport. Basically a more rugged escape
![]() 07/06/2020 at 10:56 |

Nice! What spec are you thinking?
I could see eventually replacing my Tacoma with one, if they turn out as good as I’m hoping.
![]() 07/06/2020 at 11:11 |

Depending on... a lot of things, George is mildly interested in one as a potential Renegade replacement.
![]() 07/06/2020 at 11:11 |

Yeah, you’re right about that. You can’t fault them for conceding that to the Wrangler, as it doesn’t reflect real life for 99.9 % of vehicles. Jeep will have to keep up that charade forever, though.
That suspension looks interesting, if Ford can pull it off. It’s like a combination of Land Rover and Jeep’s ride-height adjustment, Chevy’s active suspension, and Mercedes’ road-scanning.

Can you find a Level 3 charger on the Rubicon trail?

How large of a solar array (and a battery) would it take to power one?

Hope they nail it. I want this thing to sell a ton, and sell 20-50% with a manual transmission (wishful thinking, probably).

If they don’t call it the Bronc-E, they’ve missed a trick.

My wife is sitting around twiddling her thumbs waiting for the release of the VW electric bus; she wants decent range, electric, quirky(no Tesla). I think an electric bronco would interest her except the whole OJ thing. I once looked at a two door Blazer with her and she kept asking if it was the OJ car.

Rivian will be building chargers at popular camping and offroading locations, so maybe they will install one there.

The next vehicle in the Bronco line-up should be the pickup.
![]() 07/06/2020 at 16:06 |

Sounds like it might be in the works (along with a Ranger Raptor).
Doubt if it will be a single cab.

Rivian has to build a car first

As long as it’s an actual electric Bronco and not just some crossover thing that looks like a Bronco that desperately needs to release
9,000 psi
of flatulence, I’m here for it.
![]() 07/07/2020 at 09:15 |

Seems like the only way that companies can make money with electrics right now is with a premium product, so this would just make sense. You get the “image” of a Bronco (and the ability, even if you never use it) and the green cred of an electric.
Can you imagine “crawl mode” in an electric? You could just have a rheostat dial to give it exactly as much power
that you need.
![]() 07/07/2020 at 09:27 |

not sure what trim levels theyll have but i at least want heated seats and a 2 inch receiver hitch out back. also most likely a manual

These are completely reasonable desires.
![]() 07/07/2020 at 14:18 |

Hell, I’d be excited about that on its own. I know the truck/off-road market is a bit more conservative than most, but the number of folks I’ve seen get excited over stuff like the Rivian lately has been pretty surprising. The noise isn’t there, but everyone but the noise fans seem to be
too busy looking at the stats to notice
.
My only concern would be that crawling an EV might be too easy, haha. Instant torque, yo.

Did the pandemic delay the Rivian launch/deliveries? Seems like that was supposed to happen soon.
